FIND THE ANSWER

If you put a buzzard (vulture) in a pen six or eight feet square and entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of his ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of ten or twelve feet. Without space to run, as is his habit, he will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler will be there until it dies unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom it will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

Point: In many ways, there are lots of people like the buzzard, the bat and the bee. They are struggling about with all their problems and frustrations, not realizing that if they look up and around, they’ll find the answer.

THIS IS MY FRIEND'S POST.  wanted to share with you guys.

SIMPLE HEALING TECHNIQUES

Please consult your medical professional before you do this. These exercises are not intended to replace medical treatment.

This is a healing technique I learnt. It is simple and supposed to make you energetic and fit. Try it and see the results for yourself.

ROTATION EXERCISES.

First rotate your neck 10 times in clock wise direction. Next rotate it 10 times in anti clock wise direction.
Now do the same for your shoulder joints, elbows and wrist. [First rotate each joint 10 times in clock wise direction. Next rotate each joint  10 times in anti clock wise direction.]
Now do the same for your hips, knees, and ankles. [First rotate each joint 10 times in clock wise direction. Next rotate each joint  10 times in anti clock wise direction.]
This simple exercise will clear up the blocked energy channels, and speed up healing.

NOW THE HEALING.

Imagine you are standing in a shower of white light. The white light is also inter- penetrating you, and flowing from heat to foot.
The white light is entering your brain. It is cleaning your left and right hemispheres. It is cleaning your  entire spinal cord. Now your brain and spinal cord is clean energized and healthy.
The white light is entering and cleaning your  ear. Now your ears are clean energized and healthy.
The white light is entering your sinuses. They are clean energized and healthy.
The energy white light is entering and cleaning your eye. Now  the eyes  are clean energized and healthy.
The  white light is entering and cleaning your left and right nostrils, throat, wind pipe, right lungs and the  left lung . Now all the parts of the respiratory tract are clean energized and healthy.
The white light is entering  and cleaning your heart softly. It is proceeding to clean  the blood vessels. The entire cardio vascular system and circulation is clean energized and healthy.
The white light is entering your diaphragm. It is clean energized and healthy.
Th  white light is entering  and cleaning your mouth, food pipe, the stomach, small intestines , large intestines, rectum and anus. The white light is entering  and cleaning your pancreas, liver, gall bladder . The entire digestive system is clean energized and healthy.

For males.
The white light is entering your  kidneys, the ureters, bladder,  urethra, penis, testicles. The entire urinary and reproductive system is clean and energized.
For females.
The white light is entering your  kidneys, the ureters, bladder,  urethra, ovaries, uterus and the vagina.. The entire urinary and reproductive system is clean and energized.

For both.

The energy white light is entering your skull, back bones, ribs, pelvis, bones and joints of the legs                  The energy white light is entering your bones and joints of the hands
The energy white light is entering all the muscles The entire musculo -skeletal system is clean energized and healthy.
The energy white light is entering your scalp, and the skin. The scalp and skin are clean healthy and energized. The scalp is full of thick healthy hair, and the skin is firm, young and flawless.
Your whole body is clean energized and healthy.

Now repeat  the  joint rotations  exercise once again.

Release all negative and excess energy, thro the soles of your feet and the base of the spinal cord into the earth.
Imagine that a ray of white light is emerging from the base of your spine, and going 18 feet into the earth and taking roots. All the negativities, disease energy, blocks and excess energy, all are going deep into the earth.
Imagine that two rays of white light is emerging from the two sole chakras, and going 18 feet into the earth and taking roots. All the negativities, disease energy, blocks and excess energy all are going deep into the earth.
This you can do even If you live in any of the floor in apartments. You just have to imagine that you are standing on the earth , on the lawn, or sand or whatever.

Do it once a day,  in the morning or evening, or any convenient time.
See whether you feel better in about a weeks time. If you feel uncomfortable stop the exercises.

GOING GOING GONE

There was a time when pharmaceutical company’s would hire only science graduates as representatives. I was an arts graduate. Even though my first job was with a consumer company, at one point I wanted to shift to pharmaceutical selling. I applied to many companies, only, to be rejected, on this ground.
I was in-between jobs, and in one of the interviews met a guy, named Agi. He was a science graduate and had some experience in pharma selling. After the interview, we had tea and smoke. We lived nearby each others’ residence. So, we became friends. We met everyday and whiled away time.
In the meantime, both of us were, selected in a pharma company. Agi, proceeded to Mumbai for training. I could not go, as my finances were extremely low.
I continued applying. Agi returned from the training, but did not take up the job, as the company did not give him the head quarter they had promised in the interview.
I was called for an interview, from a good pharma company for which I had applied. Agi had missed applying for this company as he had been attending the training in Mumbai.
I went for the interview, that was conducted in a hotel in Chennai.. Agi also came along with me. I was called in. I was asked to sit.
The person who interviewed me, Mr.Nathan, went through my CV. In it, I had mentioned that I was a graduated of the Madras University.
He asked me, “Mr. Murali, are you a graduate in Chemistry, Physics or Biology?
I cleared my throat, nervously. I said, “ No sir, I am a graduate in economics.”
He apologized, and said, “ I am so sorry, had I known about this, I would not have called you for the interview. We hire only science graduates. “
I replied, “ I know sir, that you would do just that. That is why I did not mention it. “
I continued, “Sir, give me a chance to prove myself. Treat me the same way you would treat a science graduate. If I am good enough hire me. If not at least I would have the satisfaction of having tried. “
He gave me a medical literature. He asked me to study it, and explain it to him, two hours later.
As I left the room, I asked him, “Sir, one of my friends is waiting outside. Should I send him in?”
He replied, “Yes, please do.”
Now it was Agi’s turn. Mr. Nathan, searched for Agis’s CV, in his dossier. It was not there. He asked Agi, “ I am afraid your CV is not here. Agi replied, “It will not be there sir. I came to know of the interview, only this morning. I have bought my CV with me.”
Mr. Nathan smiled. He went through the CV, and gave Agi, another medical literature to study and explain.
Agi and I went to a nearby restaurant. Over many cups of tea and cigarettes, he helped me learn the medical terminologies, their meanings, and the idea behind the medical literature. I needed the job very badly, as my family was in a financial dead end. So I put my heart and soul in the preparation.
We were, called in two hours later. I explained the literature to the best of my ability. Agi too put in an impressive performance. That day they had interviewed 32 candidates. Only two were finally selected: Agi and me.
Many years later, during a conference, Mr. Nathan, remarked, during lunchtime. “Murali, you got the job, by not mentioning your graduation subject. And Agi, you got it without even applying.” He patted us affectionately on our shoulders.
The world has changed so much since then. Now the availability of good candidates is so rare, that pharma companies have, started hiring candidates who have arrears in their graduation, and even college dropouts.
These candidates cannot speak English and are not well versed even in their own mother tongue.
Training them needs a lot of patience, and empathy. Gone are the days when company’s could pick and choose candidates. Today they have to make do with whoever is available. The days of skilled committed employees are,” going going gone.”

AGAINST THE GRAIN

When I was a child, my father’s friends, used to ask me,” What is it you want to become when you grow up?”
I used to say either doctor or engineer. I became neither.
All children have some ambition or imagination to achieve something in life. For everything there are exceptions. One of my class mates, in school, had a different plan; he just wanted to enjoy life. Srini was his name. Srini was from a rich family. They had many properties. Though Srini tried his hand at business and employment, he failed at both, as his heart was addicted to being free.
Srini married, and fathered two kids. He is a loving husband and a doting father. Every month he disposes off some property, and gets enough cash to run the show. His children are now grown ups and  are employed.
Srini’s life is an enviable one. All days are Sundays. Between minimal work and resting, the daily agenda is enjoyment and relaxation. A typical day starts with tea, and is followed by an hour of brisk walk, breakfast, daily purchase of vegetables and meat, lunch, siesta and TV serials.  After evening coffee, Srini, usually meets his friends or a relative at a nearby bar. The evening is spent nursing whiskey on the rocks, with some smoking.  Dinner is normally at different restaurants, each famous for a particular dish.  This may be followed by some late night shows, at the theaters. Sundays include a game of cards, or a cricket match with the local boys.
Two days in a week are exclusive for the family. This includes shopping, with lunch at select restaurants. Carefree and fun loving, Srini is certainly living a life most of us would want to, but for our financial constrains.
The other exception, is my another friend, Gopal.  I met him first in my profession of medical representative. He represented another organization. He was a handsome, graceful and courteous person. While discussing marriage he told me that he preferred to get married to an employed divorcee or a widow, who earned well. Not that he was noble in thought. He wanted to be a house- husband. He was not interested in employment.
One innocent girl charmed by his looks, married him. To her horror, she later discovered that she had to be the earning member.
Until to day he stays in the house, cooking and cleaning. He is very happy that he has created   his own future. He lives a life of relaxation, and takes care to be, well groomed all the time. His wife is smart intelligent and responsible. She is often worried, about what would happen to him, if he survives her in old age.  Even though she supports him in public, it must be difficult to bear the load all alone, for so long.
Then of course there are the alcoholics, gamblers and guys who frequently are jobless due to attitudinal issues. We will discuss some more odd ones later.

IF I COULD ONLY FIND TIME

When we are young, we have all the time in the world. There are no time consuming responsibilities. We are able to pursue our hobbies, and invest a lot of time in enjoying the activities that give us joy. When we are employed, this extra time starts reducing, as we are focused on meeting the demands of our career.
After marriage, this time further reduces. Then we have children. It is around this period, we have no time of our own. Between, boss, wife, children and parents we get lost in a maze. We do not know when the day dawns and when it ends. Slowly the focus shifts to priorities, and all our loved hobbies are now a faded memory.  The brilliant colors fade to become black and white and finally to sepia tone.
Then at one stage, we stop longing, and simply give up. The gym, music classes, art classes, become foreign territories, beyond our access; While inside us the longing remains,” if I could only find time……”
Peter Drucker said— 'If you want something new, you have to stop doing something old.' I started wondering, what is it I should give up to do what I wanted to? The answer flashed- less of TV.
I reduced TV time to just an hour.  8PM to 9PM. Then for an hour, I drew and painted with water -colors. But cleaning the paint and brushes, after painting, at 10 PM, was a task. Predictably, the painting remained incomplete. An hour was not enough.

Even as we grow old, we continue to underestimate our weakness and aging. The spirit and thoughts are always young, and so is the planning. However, execution is wanting because of the inherent low levels of vigor of the elderly. Even in something as simple as painting, energy plays a major role.
So, the next part of planning was to do something I liked without the energy drain. I was in a dead end. One Sunday as I cleaned my wardrobe I came across a few sketch- books I had purchased few years back. As I dusted them, I thought that, they might be the right solution for my desire.
Yester night I sketched the picture of a smiling man, from the sketch- book. It came out reasonably well, with a good resemblance to the original. I could finish it within an hour, with no post cleaning work.

I am looking forward to sketch Brad Pitt’s photo tonight. So finally, I could fit in, some work of love, into my life of labor; Just a positive aspect, but it does bring in a sustainable glow, for the rest of the day.

Let us see, what all I should stop doing, to include, singing also into the schedule.

TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY

This is an interesting story I had heard some time back.
There was a poor fisherman. Once while he was fishing in a pond, he caught a fish. Surprisingly, the fish spoke to him and beseeched him to release it. He was hungry, but in his kindness, he put the fish back into the water. The fish became an angel and gifted him a red ruby, which granted wishes. The angel said to him, pray to the ruby everyday and your needs will be taken care of.
So next day morn, he prayed to the ruby for a hundred rupees. Immediately the money appeared before him. From that day onwards, he did not go to work. His needs were minimal, and they were satisfied by the ruby.
His neighbor became curious, when he saw the fisherman relaxing without going to fish. He peeked into his prayer room, and saw the money appear as the fisherman prayed. The same night the neighbor stole the ruby.
The fisherman was crestfallen. He went to the pond and prayed to the angel.  The angel appeared and gave him a big green emerald. The angel said, “This emerald will solve your problems.”
The fisherman prayed to the emerald for a hundred rupees. The emerald said, “What can you do with a hundred, ask for more.”
He said,” OK, give me two hundred.” The emerald said, “What can you do with two hundred, ask for more.”
He said,” OK, give me five hundred.” The emerald replied, “Only five hundred? ask for more.”
The fisherman said, “OK, I will come to collect the money later,” and left the room.
The neighbor was watching all this from a hole in the wall. As the fisherman went outside, the neighbor stealthily replaced the emerald with the ruby, and took the emerald to his home.
The neighbor was very happy. He placed the emerald in his prayer room. He prayed to the emerald for five hundred rupees. The emerald said, “What can you do with five hundred, ask for more.”
He was now very eager. He said “OK, make it  thousand. “
The emerald asked, “ Why is it you have no ambition? Dream big.”
He blurted out “Make it ten thousand.”
The emerald sighed, “ Is it all you can ask?”
His eyes widened in greed as he excitedly asked , “I will be happy with ten thousand.”
The emerald said,” Make it more.”
“One lakh?” he asked.
“More,” encouraged the emerald.
“Ten lakhs?” he wondered.
“More,” commanded the emerald
“A million,” he said with thrill.
“More,” continued the emerald.
Now he became irritated. He said, “A million is more than enough for me. Give me just that. “
The emerald laughed and said, “ You fool, do you still not realize that I am a talker and not a doer?
It was too late. He had been tricked into exchanging a useless talking emerald for a good doing ruby.
All of us are like the emerald, most times.  We talk with a lot of conviction about exercising, meditation, dieting, new year resolutions, and being happy. We just leave it at that.
I read somewhere , that the smallest deed is better than the grandest intention. I too, try to fit some daily disciplines, into my life. Succeeding for some time, only to fail later, and start all over once again. But I do not give up. The fight between ideals and reality continues. I wonder about the disciplined guys who go to the gym everyday for the six packs, or the dieter, who can say no to sweets firmly everyday, or the everyday early morning risers. How come, they are so committed, while some of us fluctuate between opposing desires? I look at the achievers with a sense of wonder, and the feeling continues.  Then I tell to myself, let us wait and see. After all, like Scarlett O'Hara said “Tomorrow is another day.”
